Currently, the Myrhorod CIS is used by students and teachers of various specialities of LNU named after Taras Shevchenko, college students, and other educational institutions. The Center provides services for face-to-face and remote use of computing resources in order to provide training and permanent virtual resources, as well as to create and test digital devices for practical support of modern IT projects.
However, one of the main tasks of the CIS is to create conditions for cooperation and the use of available information resources among all educational institutions, government agencies, entrepreneurs, as well as other residents of the Myrhorod community and other regions of Ukraine with the aim of promoting the implementation of state policy in the field of digitalization, strengthening the capacity of local self-government bodies, developing and implementing new software in communities, and providing assistance in the maintenance of information systems.

A significant feature of the CIS is the consolidation of available specialized equipment, which allows for comprehensive innovative solutions in various directions of using virtual, informational, and digital technologies. The CIS is planned to include:
- Hardware and software complex of virtual systems and cloud computing.
- Hardware and software complex of minicomputers and the Internet of Things.
- Hardware and software complex of digital learning.
- Hardware and software complex of engineering design, 3D modeling, and robotics.
- Hardware and software complex of virtual reality, artificial intelligence, and Big Data.
- Hardware and software complex of natural sciences
