Server room - the basis of virtualization

To support the virtual computing system (virtual machines for training and permanent use), a specialized server room has been established at the CIS. It is a modern, powerful computing complex that ensures continuous, 24/7, and uninterrupted operation, supports integrated network access, and creates conditions for high-quality remote work for students. The core of the complex consists of:

  • several powerful dual-processor servers;
  • a specialized uninterruptible power supply (UPS) system;
  • several specialized network routers.

All servers run on the basis of VMware vSphere, VMware Horizon, and Microsoft Windows Server systems. To increase the efficiency of the computing system, a cluster has been created with support for the possibility of a gradual increase in computing power. The total capacity of the cluster consists of:

  • 96 cores of Intel Xeon processors;
  • over 350 GB of RAM;
  • over 60,000 GB of disk space from 8 storage drives.
