Server room - the basis of virtualization

A specialized server room has been set up in the CIT to support the virtual computing system (virtual machines for training and permanent use). This is a modern, powerful computing complex that provides constant, round-the-clock and uninterrupted operation, supports integrated network access and creates conditions for high-quality work of students in remote mode.  The complex consists of:

  • several powerful dual-processor servers;
  • a specialized uninterruptible power supply system;
  • several specialized network routers.

All servers are based on VMware vSphere, VMware Horison and Microsoft Windows Server. In order to improve the performance of the computer system, a cluster was created with support for the possibility of gradual increase in computing power. The total volume of the cluster is:

  • 96 cores of Intel Xeon processors;
  • more than 350 GB of RAM;
  • more than 60,000 GB of disk space from 8 drives.
