With the beginning of the open armed aggression of the russian federation, Luhansk National University named after Taras Shevchenko was evacuated to the Poltava region. Currently, the university is located in three locations: Poltava, Lubny, and Myrhorod. The CIS is a structural subdivision of the university, established with the financial support of the European Union in order to promote the implementation of state policy in the field of digitalization within the Myrhorod community and Poltava region, as well as to provide comprehensive support for the educational process.

The CIS received equipment and, during 2023, created a specialized server laboratory, a laboratory for minicomputers and the internet of things, classrooms for digital learning, and, first and foremost, focused its efforts on implementing a powerful information system supporting modern virtualization systems.
